About Me
Hello! I’m Cheryl Lee (李蕙涵) — a Singapore-based bilingual actor for stage and screen, fluent in English and Mandarin. I am also training to become one of Singapore’s first few intimacy directors and coordinators.
My Philosophy
To me, acting is all about our relationships — with our selves, with others, and with our environment. It’s an exploration of all the intricate familiarities and nuanced contradictions of the human condition, and, more importantly, a truthful presentation of this in the form of storytelling. When done well, such performances don’t just entertain — they can create empathy, hope, and compassion in a world today that is deeply in need of more kindness.
I began my professional acting career in 2018. Since then I've had the joy of exploring a wide range of characters across theatre, film, television, web series and commercials.
Some of my more notable theatre credits include Brainstorm by Gateway Arts (dir. Samantha Scott-Blackhall), Playing With Fire by Checkpoint Theatre (dir. Claire Wong, and People by Wild Rice (dir. Edith Podesta).
You may recognise me as Tiffany Po in POSB’s long-running Po Family campaign (2019–2022), and more recently as Jane in the Bank of Singapore’s latest commercial currently showing inflight and online. For my role as Charlotte in Viddsee’s series Way Back When, I received Best Performance for Series & Pilot at the Asia Web Awards.
On Stage & On Screen
Intimacy Work & Safer Spaces
As an actor who has experienced how vulnerable, and sometimes traumatic, intimate scenes can be, I deeply believe that artistic truth should never come at the expense of anyone's mental, physical, or emotional safety. Singapore’s entertainment industry is still evolving in this area, and I want to be part of that change, to help my fellow practitioners realise that we can adopt a human-first approach to art-making, focusing on safety, compassion and effectiveness, without sacrificing joy.
In 2024, I completed the now-discontinued Consent-Forward Artist Program by the internationally recognised Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC). In 2026, I served as the Intimacy Coordinator for a short film titled Strawberry Lips, helmed by LASALLE’s student filmmakers. In 2025, I also served as the Intimacy Director for The Winter Players’ production of Hedda Gabler. I am currently in training with IDC’s Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program, with hopes to obtain both full Intimacy Director and Intimacy Coordinator certifications in the future.
Beyond Performance
In addition to acting and intimacy work, I also work in stage management, which has given me a deeper understanding and appreciation of theatre-making as a collaborative craft.
When I’m not training, rehearsing, performing, or on set, you’ll probably find me crocheting clothes and plushies🧶 or beading and wire-wrapping jewellery💍
